Human Ingenuity: Poems 1 To 5
19 February, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
Mapping the world alleviated the fear
of reaching destinations far and near
so people all over were a little more clear
the planet is much smaller than it would appear.
--
Between a rock and a hard place lay early man
in this geological genesis of a sleep deprivation clan
but one morning he woke up on the right side of the bed
and the posturpedic revolution soothed his weary head.
--
Over distance it became too hard to tell
with these fading voices and where they fell
because everybody would have to yell
if it were not for the invention of Mr. Bell!
--
Alone on my farm makes me blue.
Country living was designed for two.
I'm hoping this ad will find someone like you
so send a picture of your tractor if it's new!
--
You no longer climb to the one you seek
in that arduous journey to hear him speak
but the wise old man remains at his peak
which makes 'Mountain dot com' so unique!
