Your Daily Struggle: Poems 1 To 5
20 February, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
Some people succeed at their first attempt.
From trial and error they're always exempt
while others struggle to get another crack
at that elusive gift of having the knack!
--
Unraveling the secrets of the brain.
Travel will be slow over rough terrain
with little attempt to use the passing lane.
Mysteries, as such, are hard to explain!
--
Pretension came down from it's ivory tower
and the rhetoric once sweet now turned sour
when the facade was stripped from those who cower
behind their arrogance and abuse of power!
--
The most dangerous word always makes room
when you jump to conclusions and lower the boom
but until all the facts are in full bloom
you should never begin to safely 'assume.'
--
Gravity would alter the learning curve
when the subject of the blues made us swerve
by losing momentum and our nerve
to the downward slope in which we serve.
