State Of Confusion: Poems 1 To 5
25 February, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
The gremlins tinkered with your mind
and equilibrium is in a bind.
The lure of tomorrow will be hard to find
now that you're fully a day behind!
--
Ebb seemed lost without any flow
by apparently not knowing where to go
and now that time is a common foe
the path to continuity could be slow!
--
As he is lying face down in the dirt
canned laughter never fails to subvert
the idea that a pratfall tends to flirt
with someone who is getting seriously hurt!
--
A bad crop of wheat made them lose their grip
so the Salem witches took a little trip
but what the elders could not see
the reaction was the same as taking LSD!
--
The intelligentsia were scratching their head
waiting to see where the next vanguard led
and a beautiful new language was born and bred
but they failed to comprehend what the baby said.
