Frustration: Poems 1 To 5
26 February, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
These are the depths in which she has slid
as the music plays when you open the lid
and the ballerina looks up from bended knee
in her solitary confinement of misery.
--
I was born on Saturn and came to earth
to sing in falsetto on someone else's turf
but my pitch is too high and it's very clear
only those with four legs are able to hear!
--
"Merry Christmas" is likely to offend.
"Have a nice day" drives you around the bend.
"Please take care" will no longer mend.
Positive messages are getting harder to send!
--
The denial of prejudice is a silent alarm
and this chosen deafness brings only harm
from those who pretend to exude such charm
but secretly prefer to break your arm!
--
With the lure of romance came the inevitable trap
when navigating the terrain of this unmarked map
and the labyrinth surrounding the path to her heart
put the suitor in jeopardy right from the start!
