Milestones In Music: Poems 1 To 5
28 February, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
Mick and Keith were not alone.
Charlie was down to skin and bone.
Ronnie couldn't hear the ringing phone
but Methuselah was still the oldest Stone!
--
The Cro-Magnum was the first to step into the fire
and with his hot foot it appeared to be dire.
He went into a funk as the flames grew higher!
To dance like James Brown is something to admire!
--
The words may be lost in all that noise
and the earthiness is not a study in poise
but rock and roll still gainfully employs
a primal urge to seek carnal joys!
--
Jim Morrison is not in his burial plot.
A mystery for which he has bravely fought
and an anarchic freedom many others have sought:
to rebel against life without getting caught!
--
Mighty Samson was concerned about losing his hair
as the potency of manhood just wasn't there
but he regained all virility and his comeback was big
by becoming the fifth Beatle and donning a wig!
