Waiting: Poems 1 To 5
1 March, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
"The battle is imminent and we choose to stay
so I hope my dear that you will pray
and tell our daughter of the love I convey
as I write this letter from the Alamo today!"
--
This photograph confirmed a time and place
before she vanished without a trace
and became the subject of an unsolved case
as the missing person with the lovely face!
--
Mrs.Bates waited quietly for the day
these rocking chair blues would go away
with dreams that Norman may bring her joy
through the personal delivery of a Lazy-boy!
--
It's a human prerogative to complain
but in this line you'll never gain
what you've lost in sorrow and doubt
of waiting too long in the express check-out!
--
Without a foundation or factual base
you look so sadly at that empty space
as this bookshelve offers a very weak case
when truth is missing and has lost its place!
