Recession Depression
1 March, 2009
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
It's not right; and it's not fair
We all fight for the pirates share
All the signs we chose to ignore
Never satisfied, wanting more
We lived beyond our means
Trying to achieve our dreams
But have we learned
as the tables turn
So much corporate greed
off their employees they feed
People all have to work much longer
and watch as the big wigs get stronger
Now left to the mercy of the government
On how billions of future tax dollars are spent
The taxpayers will pay
For the major markets sway
People hope tomorrow there's still a job
But for many it ends in a tear or a sob
Will we lose all that was ours
to those with greed and powers
They say it gets worse before it gets better
But how will the financially unstable weather
All are hoping our IRAs are not gone
And our savings will not become overdrawn
No it's not right; and it's not fair
To our knees we fall in prayer
Lessons learned, but at what cost
Let's just hope it was before, all was lost
