The Red Haired Goddess
3 March, 2009
Author: AprilRosedw
Standing soullessly
Through daylight and brass weeds
She’s seeking more than an imaged dream
A scarce veil hides her ivory toned skin and sadden eyes
Lays regretted in the dust of dawn
Streams of water sing to her
Awakening her soul and banishing the pain
Revealing limitless rose-filled cheeks
Clouds of white wrap around her
Pressing his pendant into the sand
concealing visioned agony
Nightfall comes and goes
She seeks love on the river banks
only to see reflections cold misery
Beyond the bitter memories of his eyes
She staggers slowly to the stone wall
and enters her kingdom
Rejecting visions of their lifeless love
She beckoned her enemies to her side
With all watching she froze in her tracks
Unbearable
Raising the dagger lined with their vain mistakes
She pierces her wound heart
Collapsing to the sea-less soil with
sorrow breathing into her escaping days
She felt an embrace of more than sea and love
as his eyes stare down through her soul
Blinking back to her veil laying in the dirt
And his rooted necklace in the sand
The red hair beauty smiled in the face of death
