The Feminine Perspective: Poems 1 To 5
5 March, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
The Queen of the Nile planned a dramatic farewell
and on karaoke night she was dying to tell
but her swan song was sadly reduced to a rasp.
Cleopatra would be remembered as a pain in the asp!
--
From out of a bath he came dripping wet
and the history of art was permanently set
as the demure Mona Lisa began to smile
when gazing upon Leonardo in complete denial!
--
Marie Antoinette was filled with dread
in the aftermath when she had bled
but Anne Boleyn smiled and calmly said
"You'll be reunited with your severed head!"
--
Her Majesty the Queen was traveling abroad
but human error led to something quite odd.
Her toilet seat vanished and she felt so alone
to be miles from home without the royal throne!
--
Outside their plane the situation was grim
so he sang to dear Amelia his favorite hymn
as the sky grew dark with her eyes closed tight.
The freedom of this bird had taken eternal flight!
