When We Rise
5 March, 2009
Author: Everett
We were once the misunderstood generation.
Now we are just another misinformed nation.
Help me understand what we have become.
We are all falling one by one.
We sit and give them an honest answer.
They will stand and feed us the cancer.
Give them your heart now…
They will tear it apart.
Tonight the stars bleed for us.
In each other we must trust.
You can shove your weapons in our face.
We won’t slow down our pace.
We march on for the start of a new day.
Look forward to tomorrow and watch yesterday decay.
Don’t bother to stop us or prepare,
We are no longer on the couch in front of the TV, we are everywhere.
