My love for you ran deep
Deeper than any ocean floor lies
Deeper than any volcanic tunnel runs
It was unbearable for me
To love a man who does not exist for me
A man who only wants control of my heart
-But nothing more
A man who only wants the knowledge of my love
-But nothing more
Thankfully, I've changed
I use to think about you every moment in a day I was blessed with
-Not enjoying the blessing because I was focused on my unacknowledged love for you
I use to cry
I use to isolate myself, my emotions, me
While somehow being constantly surrounded by friends
Now, you'll pass through my mind
Dancing me through the night
Lighting candles before me
I smile at the memories now because I have them
I no longer cry because I don't have you
I realized a while ago...
I don't need you for my lungs to breathe
I don't need you for my heart to beat
The sun has continued to rise without you
Shooting stars have flown their way through night skies without you there
I love you-but that's it
There's nothing more...
