Almost
6 April, 2009
Author: Russ Rhoe
I almost had the love of my life....
not once but twice!
Both times the same thing happened!
I could start a sentence...
and you could finish it.
We were both thinking the same thing....
at the wrong time.
OR....
we were bot thinking the wrong thing,
at the same time?
Too much in common?
I wanted you before I even thought about it....
or knew you.
I wanted you even more....
after we met.
I could never finish anything we started....
because it never ended!
I could post verse on a poetry site....
and you would answer before I finished the thought.
We both wanted (or hoped for) too little of too much!
To much alike to connect?
OR....
Too much of what was good to believe it was real?
Almost, but not enough.
So you left because I loved you....
Almost, but apparently too much?
For what its worth I never had a choice!
It just came from the heart....
and when you left....
you forgot to leave it behind.
Now....
I'm over you but not what we had!
I just want it again....
but with someone who won't run from happiness!
