At The Hidden Lake
13 April, 2009
Author: Miztrebor
I step out into the night
It is still, quiet, and dark
Peaceful crickets cut the silence
I make my way through the forest
Slowly feeling my path along the darkness
My hands become my eyes
I know that soon i will arrive at the lake’s edge
But nothing could’ve prepared me for what i was to see next
I push away the last remaining willow curtains
And stop dead in my tracks
I am no longer in the darkness of the forest
Rather standing in a shadow of moonlight
It is here that i sit
My feet delicately placed into the warm waters
As not to disturb it’s stillness
Still only the crickets chirp in my ears
They remind me that i am not alone here
A breeze starts up, clouds slowly come in
A familiar feeling comes through my body
It will soon rain; its moist scent fills the air
Most would take shelter now
Even my noisy companions have died down
They must have gone into hiding
It’s strange what creature can sense
Humans seem to have lost those simple things
I think they knew of the rain much earlier than i did
What a romantic outing this has, and will, turn out to be
I put distance between myself and my love
This we do not regret, our days together will come
But the longing never ceases in our collective heart
Tonight will be a brief encounter for us
This lake, for us, a place to be together
Even though she’s never seen it
The rains have started
The ripples on the water tell me our story
The lake is not quiet now, though still serene
Swim with her i will, douse myself in her waters
My love, our day will come
At the present moment we have the now
The here and now of this lake and shower
Let us take it in and not despair
Never will i end this love we share

Colin (69.157.8.168) -- Tuesday, April 14 2009, 04:17 am You are truly a child of nature and that is a very beautiful and pure thing in this day and age! I look at my lake and I say 'Colin - you are the richest man in the world!' |
Mizer Trebor (72.230.75.119) -- Tuesday, April 14 2009, 01:14 pm Nature does seems to be the greatest wealth a person can obtain. There are trees, lakes, and the wildlife but it isn't those material things of the wealth. It's the pure joy and experiences one can encounter. I have a lake right outside my window, acres of state forest behind my house. The place lacks human interaction on a daily basis and places to go, but sometimes a simple walk through the woods came be far better than going to a club. These are the riches of a material world, i'm glad you can join the club. |
