Startling Revelations: Poems 1 To 5
21 April, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
After a brief dalliance with questionable taste
any paragon of reasoning was laid to waste
and a reputation once solid is now considered cheap.
You're only as good as the company you keep!
--
The cunning linguist had reached the brink
as his verbal arsenal revealed a kink
that if you must act before you think
it's evidence of returning to the missing link!
--
Over 6000 miles and a full retreat
Mao Tse-tung could not accept defeat
when the Nike revolution helped him complete
the Long March by supporting the arch of his feet!
--
A cast of thousands in alphabetical order
defined by surnames and a systematic border
as a narrative voice lists who lives where.
The Telephone Book Movie remains a monotonous affair!
--
Libido begins and takes you there
in a moment revealed for those who care
and it's all or nothing so don't you dare
turn on the TV when I'm getting bare!
