Deceptive Little Words

I yearn to close my eyes
And keep pretending
That it isn’t her perfume
That scents your pillow
That your lips aren’t tainted
With her poisoned kisses
My mind keeps churning out
Pictures of your betrayal
The sight of her legs and yours
Tangled in a lover’s knot
Your skin shining with passion
A flash of white as her teeth
Graze your shoulder
Red trails of ecstasy running
Down your spine
Drawn by careless fingers
Your forked tongue tracing lines
On her smooth skin
Cries of lust filling the air
Gasping with want and release
When you whisper the
Three little words
That kept my heart beating
And now threaten
To tear it apart
