Jack, Jesus And Pathos: Poems 1 To 5
26 April, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
The table was set and the guests arrived.
It was a night to remember for those who survived!
His table manners were lacking and demeanor uncouth
when Jack the Ripper carved the turkey and eventual truth!
--
Behind this veil is earthly deceit
and that is man's main conceit:
To lie and cheat and even steal.
Jesus sat down for his final meal!
--
Bathos pulled pathos back from the brink
before any more sadness would start to sink
whatever pride was left on the shelf
when it's easy to feel sorry for only yourself!
--
Let me be your voice and spirit guide
and put you in touch with the other side
as we seek the knowledge behind this truth
on how she wasted her precious youth!
--
He did howl and he did wail
when coerced into this sorry tale
about naivete and choosing the wrong trail
when falling for the charms of a shemale!
