As If
14 May, 2009
Author: LinzAy
As if I didn’t already feel the cold sting of loneliness biting at me
As if shivers don’t already slide down my spine for lack of loving warmth
I’ve got your cold heartless words that speak of actions which remain unperformed
It can’t continue this way
You’re acting as if circumstances in my life only must change
You’re acting as if you have the easy route
Well, dear, I’ve already got enough to deal with and will not bend over backwards for emptiness
It won’t continue this way
I can act as if I never heard your repetitive false words
I can act as if it doesn’t keep me waiting but even though I know it’s absurd, I still hold my breath for you to come through
Don’t you understand you’re only bringing someone down who already struggles with elevation?!
I’m sorry, but this is the time for my life to shine and I won’t allow you to continue to cast your shadows any longer
…Come through or just go away
