Making It Through
16 May, 2009
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
I don't want to disappoint you
living the life I lead
the dreams take me away
to a place without you
I don't want to hold you back
from the things that we should do
living on wishes and vitamins
waiting for a different day
The tears fall in loneliness
while and others fall in pain
making it through another day
a journeys end, begins
Time will heal the wounds
survival for the fittest
still living on the dreams
another new day will dawn
------- Author's Notes -------
This is a poem about my husbands job. Company cutbacks changed his job to a much more physically demanding one. He is not as young as he used to be.. and this job rubs rust in the wounds.. |
