Struggling With The Paradigm Shift: 5 Poems
17 May, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
Once was a time they had flesh and bone.
Many old ghosts are now left on their own
trapped in the otherworld and feeling alone
so think about that when you hear a poltergeist moan!
--
Table manners were archaic and a bit uptight
so Elvis beat his chest with crude delight
for his conclave of apes and their god given right
to engage as free spirits in another food fight!
--
When in doubt flip the panic switch.
When in doubt scratch that itch.
When in doubt leave all others behind
if you have any doubt you're losing your mind!
--
Ancient civilizations have eroded with time
as human intervention perpetuated the crime
and with most travel destinations in disrepair
there are still bloody tourists everywhere!
--
This dubious poll offers no rhyme or reason
in the feverish promotion of another silly season
when the elasticity of the truth has prompted some fears
courtesy of the saturated sponge between our ears!
