Some Scars Betray My Memories
9 June, 2009
Author: Karla Bardanza
Some scars betray my memories
And make me drink my own poison…
I quench my thirsty, I wipe my mouth
With my bleeding hand while it rains
Beautifully outside and inside of me.
My chains are so well disguised and I
Endure pain heroically…I even seem to be
Free…Nobody can see the stones I am
Carrying to throw at your window.
Nobody can see how prepared I am
To throw away this rage at your heart.
And there is no time to finish or start
My private war against my past…And
It is possibly the only one thing I can do
To forget that my soul still loves you.
