Thank You, Father Thank You

I guess I've got to thank you
For the life you've given me
Not for the seed you've planted
But the weight you've lifted off me

I had nothing till now
You were always riding my back
Go to school, mow the lawn
I've had enough of that

I guess I've got to thank you
For this new opportunity
Took away the stresses
Took away your presence
You picked up and left me

Thank you
Father thank you
That's all I know to say
You never were the man you taught me to be
It took me awhile to care not
You aren't a missing piece
There's not hole left in me

Cause I am stronger that you can see
And I don't care what others think
You've always been a stranger
As I've been to you
But it was your fault you didn't know me
‘Cause you never gave me space to be myself
Never let me be myself
Until you left for good

For this i thank you
Father I thank you
You made me what I am
Not doing what you do
Not being who you are
That's how you made me
You never were the man you taught me to be
You never acted on your lessons
You can't come back, I don't want you back
I don't need you back
All you need to know is
Thank you
F***** thank you
For f***** up a million times and more
