Inventions And Interventions: 5 Poems
1 July, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
Mrs. Davis went on a holiday and never came back.
At least that was the alibi they couldn't track.
The credibility of this story eventually shrunk.
Yesterday they found her remains in a steamer trunk!
--
The small print in the evening became a blur
as generations of readers would concur
but the flames which flickered in the dark
were replaced by Edison's visionary spark!
--
This video game took an alternate path
by sidestepping man's bloody wrath
seeking peace and tranquility to its very core.
Your attention span is shorter than ever before!
--
The anatomist was under considerable distress
as the courier delivered to the wrong address
a sample of Einstein's weary brain.
Any signs of intelligence are hard to explain!
--
It's clear my baby just smiles for me
with her calm exterior permanently
as the wonders of cosmetology set her free
from a stray bullet she did not see!
