The Mind Is A Confused Playground: 5 Poems
9 July, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
That big black cloud is coming near
towards those you consider oh so dear.
Self-doubt and loathing has never been this clear
when the conceit of advertising is based on fear!
--
One day this little child will become a Dad.
One day this little child will regret he had.
He dosen't always understand why he gets mad
and what will happen to his little child is very sad.
--
The curious pup kept sniffing around
as if it were some hallowed ground.
The next door neighbour didn't make a sound.
His missing wife was never found!
--
The guardian angels studied mental health.
Humanity offered them a considerable wealth
of displaced people on the shelf
all searching in vain for their inner self.
--
If a conclave of monkeys wrote every great book
the marketing of literature would take an appreciative look
as the envy of mankind now looks up to see
a more enlightened species swinging from a tree!
