Southwick Beach, Lake Ontario

The constant noise from the shoreline, the warm sand beneath my feet, cool morning air whisks by my face as I wake up along the side of Lake Ontario.

Not realizing mother natures gift at first, I took on this adventure w/out knowing the risks.

At first this place was just going to be for fun, to venture to, never realizing that it was going to capture a piece of my heart.

Every morning waking up and taking in the sounds of birds, trees waving and the sound the winds let the grass and other plants borrow.

Barefoot walks everyplace you go, complete relaxation, no plans, no worries.

The sun is there when you need it, though there's plenty of shade when you need a break from it.

The water is clean and even if a storm rolls in, you can rest assured since you are the first to see it roll in, you’ll be the first to see those calm, still waters, afterward.

The ones I gazed upon just a few years ago, it’s sky blue reflections, with a hint of orange sunset from the distance, only mother nature could put those two colors together and make them look so good together.

So beautiful I had to be apart of it, so I took a few steps into the lake that night. Surrounded by beauty, that only I saw.

I think back to these painted masterpieces of memories a lot. This is a place where truly all you need is the moonlight and you can find your way anywhere.

Everything becomes a reflection off of a reflection, the moon light hits the sand all around you, being able to see everything in that hazy white light.

No amount of darkness could make reality distort this amount of perfection.

It’s the nights that don’t make any sense, those nights that we dwell upon, the ones that we carry with us everywhere we go and it’s a place that takes me to those nights every time I venture to this hidden abyss.

Anybody can go here, though I feel that when you get here, it decides if it wants to give you a piece of it in return.

To some it’s a campsite on a beachfront, to me it’s truly an escape from everything. A stress free lifestyle for a week or two that isn't accompanied by reality’s drowning light.

Where temporary neighbors become friends, where sunny skies are out even when it’s pouring.

Where the simplicity of things is so gratifying that you cannot help but smile.

Nestled beyond some cornfields and through a small town called Pulaski, down a few roads is a place called Southwick Beach.

This place is my hidden safe haven.

From the first time I went there, it’s beauty took me in, like an old friend saying, welcome home.

FANTASTIC visuals!

Just total enjoyment in reading this - makes me want to go there, too. I wouldn't, but I wouldn't mind - does that make any sense?
