5 Variations On Sleep Depravation
30 July, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
When I woke up today the process seemed slow.
As a victim of circumstance I was laying low.
The mystery kicked in but I didn't really know
until this identification tag was removed from my toe!
--
She was surprised to find you in her bed
on the night she and her husband had finally wed
and your appearance complimented them as a team
when waking up in someone else's dream!
--
With his thumb in his mouth he cannot cry
so let the sleeping baby lie
as this individual you call a spouse
currently resides in your doghouse!
--
I lay here trembling I lay here awake.
The shock of this experience is too much to take.
I don't recall her mustache or the hair on her back.
Anxiety this morning is on full frontal attack!
--
Along these dark corridors with imagination in tow
his fear of slumber began to grow
and embedded in his dreams was a literary foe.
Sitting at the foot of the bed was Edgar Allan Poe!
