Grin And Grim: 5 Poems
2 August, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
For those of us who had built a fence
around our minds increasingly dense
certain phobias became too immense
when the weather forecast made no sense!
--
Since the first time man was able to speak
he manipulated the language of the weak
and through the seduction of carefully crafted lies
it would always pay to advertise!
--
This planet was once covered by blue and green.
The most beautiful colors you've ever seen
but in outer space we will forever roam.
A garbage can has replaced our home.
--
The chameleon was able to change his face
and lead by example for the human race
in knowing the world can be a smaller place
when compassion acts as our saving grace!
--
The history of mankind was poorly led
when anger reared its ugly head
and negotiations broke down instead.
It's all been done and very little was said.
