The Universe From A Boat
14 August, 2009
Author: Miztrebor
Laying on the bottom of this boat
The Universe opens up.
Overhead the stars shine with a distant light.
Far away the source is gone
But it still lives on as we watch
Giving us a glimpse to the past.
The water is as still as the night air
The sounds of crickets linger
Long after the rest of the world has gone to sleep.
This is the real time to be aroused with life.
On toward the east a red moon is rising.
There’s not a sight scarier, yet so awe inspiring to view than this.
To not share it would hurt all the worse
Than looking upon the blood stained woman of the sky.
Come with me, lay under the Universe
Lay in the vessel of never ending imagination and wonder.
Over there is a storm,
Its ominous clouds roll in silently creeping along.
Be not bothered by this sight
Rain is ever present in the scent of the air,
And the lights of the universe are engulfed.
Soon new lights will take over
This time from the clouds themselves.
Upon your face the lightening crashes with the sound of beauty
Thousands of pinpoints of light in the sky
Would not draw me away now.
What storm?
What bloody orb?
The walls of the boat seem to be moving in
And a chilling wind comes over the water.
Shall I draw you in from the cold?
Let’s lay here silently and still
Let’s listen to as the water laps upon the shore
And the waves rock us to the music of the night.
The moon is gone, and water is all around us
The heavens open up their cleansing showers.
This is the Universe at its best.
