The Eye Of The Storm

My heart feels as much pain as my body does
When I see what is hidden deep within me.
Something in me yells, scratches my soul, tears
My eyes…No…I don’t want to see these perfect lies.
Let me feel this insane moment of peace…
Let me walk barefoot in fields of flowers…

This lapse between what is and what should be
Is mine…Silence the fears, blindfold the tears,
Handcuff the hours, the minutes, the years…
I want to breathe eternity…I want more…
My eyes are sore…
My yesterday will never be my tomorrow,
My desire is much more than my sorrow.

Oh!Those things loom in the dark…
They still make me crawl…
Memories buried in quicksand
Calling me, taking my hand…
Oh!Let me abandon myself
And break the chain…
I can’t go on…
I can’t bear all this pain…

The mirror never shows
Who I am or the truth behind
My name…
And life…Oh!My life isn’t just
A silly dirty game.
My life is much more than
What is happening…

So let me walk barefoot in fields of flowers
And see the moonlight catching the crest of waves.
I won’t bend with the weight of my own despair.
I won’t run in circles and get nowhere.
I will touch the eye of the storm and fly away
To a brand-new day.
