Small Things
1 September, 2009
author: Rebecca Ditch-Hammack (aka Dreamer)
It's the small things that make life feel good
Going camping watching the dogs run and play across an open field -
Pouncing on each other every once in a while
Feeling the first of autumn early evening breezes.
Watching my husband contently poking at the fire with a stick -
knowing he has a beautiful tomorrow off too
In the background the radio plays the latest country songs
With a chorus of crickets and frogs joining in
Looking forward to watching the stars from the out in the country -
with no city lights to spoil the view
Breathing in the scent of the burning cedar
Watching the fire quickly lick up the dry logs
Knowing for this moment there is not a care in my world
It's the small things that make life good
------- Author's Notes -------
We are finally able to use our new campsite...Hooray!!! |
