I loved you for your lies
Your kisses…your promises of a false realty
But, I loved you

I loved you for your smiles
Never realizing your smiles were…intended…for another
But, I loved you

I loved you for your touch
All the warm embraces…safety that was never really there for me
But, still, I loved you

I loved you for so much
For every moment spent with you
For every word that escaped your lips
For every stare that tore through my soul
For every time you made it known there was love in your heart
….even though it was never truly meant for me…
I loved you for you
When you weren’t…torturing me
When your words weren’t full of hate
When your back wasn’t turned towards my love
….actually, I loved you then too

I loved you
…But now I realize Love is a false reality no matter whose lips it falls from
