She Drove Away... Straight To My Heart
9 September, 2009
Author: Miztrebor
The weekend came to a close
And I watched her drive away.
Break lights engaged
A burst of hope brightened the scene.
But this dimmed when the STOP sign came into view.
She was just obeying the law.
Ah,
I sit here at my desk
Reliving the last forty-eight hours or so.
Joy is everywhere in that past and present
Except here and
....in her car.
Where we are it is raining,
Even when this setting sun
Doth shine many colors into the twilight beauty,
Tears stream down the windshields of our souls.
Cleansing takes place.
It was only a week apart
....and she came to me
With my arms wide open.
It’ll be just as long as that for the next time
Not the eternity it, at first, felt like.
Happiness i feel
Happiness i live
Both i and her are happy
Through the distance
Both she and i still Love.

Miz Trebor (72.230.78.171) -- Thursday, September 10 2009, 04:00 pm me and my friend have an understanding that she's heartless and i'm heartful, haha. it's all in good fun. but still in general id rather heart some criticism on my work, isn't that what makes us strive to write better in the future. though the argument can be made that saying "MUSHY!!!!" isn't criticism. But yeah not discouraged at all. enough people enjoy my mushiness. |
Laraine Smith (209.132.169.133) -- Sunday, September 13 2009, 06:53 pm I feel the same loneliness when the week comes to an end at my nursing home. I enjoy playing Wii in the therapy department. I also enjoy the company of the therapists. There is not much to do on weekends. My heart breaks for you. But thanks for giving this poem a happy ending. |
