Haikus For Seattle
13 September, 2009
Author: Laraine Smith
Slim and her Gracie,
They can travel where they choose!
They choose Seattle!
Go to Seattle!
This is where Slim’s love Joe is.
Gracie likes it, too.
Slim, Gracie, and Joe,
They travel on their ferry,
Glad to be alive.
“Emerald City;”
Gracie watches it glitter!
Slim is drawn to it.
Seattle is dim.
Lights in buildings shine like stars.
Skies are colorful.
Slim is feeling safe.
Joe makes a hot fudge sundae.
It is for Gracie.
Night skies are purple.
I can see distant mountains.
Goodnight, Seattle

In addition to Panoramic Images, inspiration came from the movie “Enough” and the song “Alive” by Jennifer Lopez. |
