Hero
26 September, 2009
Author: Ing Twi Demalah
I thought that
I had so much to teach you
Right from wrong,
How to live,
But instead, you taught me
What it means
To be alive.
And now I wonder,
Are we meant to fly
And, if so,
why must we dream,
to touch the sky
Yet you,
You seem to soar
And, to such heights
As to surf the tail
When a comet passes bye
I thought to speak,
And give you wisdom,
And you but smile
And I laugh in-spite of myself
For naught but,
The joy which fills my heart.
And your laugh,
Your laugh is to my spirit
A fresh mountain stream
Or the Spring breeze
Against my face
I had thought
To carry you,
Through life’s trials
But you lift ME,
I swear,
you lift the world each day
You are, My Wonder
My Baby Boy, My Little one
My Son
My Hero
