My Brother, Your Soldier
23 October, 2009
Author: LinzAy
My brother lost his tears for you
In preparation for our wars
He's become accustomed to a strict and disciplined life
So that you may enjoy more
He's spending his time in training
Missing love and holidays
He's already changed who he grew up to be
In so many different ways
He stands with pride and honor
With a hand raised to our flag
He walks with strength and dignity
Never letting one foot drag
My brother is a soldier
And he'll fight through life for you
I can only hope you appreciate him
And everything he'll make possible for you
------- Author's Notes -------
It's strange how much just Basic Training changed my brother. I wrote this after we said goodbye after his Basic Training graduation before he left for AIT. At least we get to talk to him now that he's in AIT. |
