Woke up this morning to a familiar refrain.
You're testing my faith as I wear this bane
like a necklace with the weight of a ball and chain.
Oh Lord why is life such a strain?

You only have to look up to the sky
to realize what makes the bluebird fly
and live the life of exalted grace.
These selfish blues belong to the human race!
---
Into the blender went the mix of life.
The ingredients were volatile and so was his strife
by lacking the color of any insight
when most people only think in black and white!
---
Back then they didn't know what to say
without the benefit of DNA
and the lead grew cold in this tragic tale
as his blood remained under her fingernail!
---
Woman was born and he lost control.
The blues lay claim to a daily patrol.
Adam was not alone so he didn't have a vote.
Someone else would operate his remote
