Footsteps Into The Darkness: 5 Poems
9 November, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
These blood splattered photographs meant nothing to me.
Their bodies are just a reminder of the enemy
and somewhere back home they don't have a clue
but I made them widows and orphans too!
---
I lay here silently throughout the fall
until winter made its desolate call
and the spring awoke but still I sleep
because someone buried me six feet deep!
---
Without the benefit of a warning sign
you will reach the end of the line
and this swift revenge is now all mine
by the time you have finished this glass of wine!
---
The welcome sign wasn't a big hit.
When you arrive you know that's it!
The gift shop is closed and there's no more to tell
about another day in a place called Hell!
---
Atlantis is somewhere far off the map
and beyond what the imagination can possibly trap
but is always worth the phantasmic trek
for the sound of their fabulous discotheque!
