On My Own

I can’t be on my own
I used to be a king
On my throne
Now I’m just a shadow of a man
I try to do everything I can
I have to sit on the toilet to pee
How would any man like to be like me?
I can hardly walk
I can barely talk
I make a mess in everything I do
It looks terrible when I’m through
My wife puts up with a lot
Believe me
I give everything I’ve got
I’m not good lookin
I can’t even
Do my own cookin
I ride my little cart
My neighbors say
There goes the old fart
But I do get respect
More than
I would expect
If I were left alone
It would be something
I could not condone
I would die very quick
I would lie there
For the dogs and cats
To lick
No I could not make it on my own
I’ve tried to hide it
But the truth has shown
Soon I will die
And everyone will cry
Old Don was a good fella
But he sure couldn’t
Sing a capella.
