Thoughts Without Wings
25 June, 2002
Author: Anjali Thapa
Which lane united us?
Which lane separated us?
Only lanes, no turns
How sheltered things’d be
A ceaseless river
An endless sky
Flakes of eternal dreams
An object and it’s shadow?
Every thought cannot materialize
Still, knitting dreams is
A hobby of these needles
Only lanes, no turns
Dreams are immaculate
Drowned in a hypnotic trance
Eyes of my drunken soul
Ears of my hallucinated mind
Shrewd eyes of reality
Build lanes and turns
Sturdy hands of reality
Build high walls and doors
I shrink, and
I flinch again
I close my eyes, and
Start dreaming again
Dreams without wings.
