Defiance And Forgiveness: 5 Poems
19 November, 2009
Author: Colin Stewart
As the bee lay paralyzed on the mat
the wrestler's victory seemed rather pat
but nature's message was a wondrous thing:
"If you sit on me you'll receive a sting!"
---
A compromising act shall always prevail
by acknowledging our life as a morality tale
if we swallow our pride and try to forgive
when accepting the grace of live and let live!
---
My smile was captured during a happier time.
Looks are deceiving if you remembered one's prime
and excuse me if this predicament is why I nag.
An obituary picture can be such a drag!
---
There will be days he'll succumb to a bitter defeat
but a lesson is learned without another repeat
in a postscript of engagement to this awkward story.
It takes a man to say he's truly sorry!
---
It's getting mighty crowded way down there
as the rise of martyrdom dosen't seem to care
when another suicide bomber fails to yield
to a Hell with the resemblance of a mine field!
