Doors Of Definition: 5 Poems

There was persistent knocking on Satan's door.
With a quota unfulfilled they had come back for more.
Their aggressive sales pitch left him with a chill.
All those Girl Guide cookies would defeat his will!
---
Some have chosen to be discreet and settle old scores
while others pace back and forth on creaky wooden floors.
So many of us harbor secrets and the mysteries it implores.
People always behave differently behind closed doors!
---
In single file and one by one
the passing parade is never done.
Life's final outcome is just a fixed score.
We're all destined to leave through the same exit door!
---
I've heard that knock many times before
so I rushed to greet her at the front door
but reality was calling and it could not save
my love from beyond her eternal grave!
---
A selection of expletives come to mind
when a good vocabulary is hard to find.
The profane linguist leaves us in a bind.
The first and last cuss words of mankind!
