The Cave
24 December, 2009
Author: Zach
Day by day,
and night by night,
I follow myself into the cave,
and through the darkness
I know what lingers in the distance,
taunting me,
making me wish and hope,
yearning for a true existence.
At this point in my journey
I'd settle for false happiness,
as long as I can feel happy,
and not have to think about it.
Thinking is what's killing me inside.
The more calm I try to make myself on this venture,
the more stressed I become,
and yet,
I carry on,
not knowing what lies ahead,
'cause I've never made it to the end of the cave,
and I don't know if I ever will.
Halfway through,
I get scared,
and turn back,
only to walk this same path tomorrow.
