Rage by Mark Spencer

Rage is a dark and primal force,
That so consumes the mind,
Rational thinking disappears,
And sanity unwinds.

It is stored deep inside the soul,
Just waiting to break free.
And it will pour out like a flood,
That blusters like the sea.

Rage has a passive origin,
It's not allowed to speak.
Resentment builds within the one,
Who turns the other cheek.

And though it cannot make a sound,
It has something to say,
About the things that feed it's flame,
And will not go away.

When principles have been suppressed,
And opinions subdued,
Then bitterness will build until
Discernment comes unglued.

To turn the other cheek beyond
The second blow that's struck,
Allows those with no thought for you,
To simply run amok.

And then the rage will build in you,
With a volcanic might,
Until its fury is unleashed,
And the madness ignites.

But rage can be avoided when
We don't lock it inside.
When our opinions aren't suppressed,
Nor emotions denied.

For if you try to fill a jar,
Beyond what it can hold,
The pressure, then, can break the jar,
The stress can't be controlled.

And once the vessel's been destroyed,
It cannot be restored.
For rage contained in broken jars
Can never be ignored.

If you suppress what angers you,
Or keep your feelings caged,
Control will slowly slip away,
Into a sea of rage.

Alot of Great Artists....
Alot of great artists and writers have turned their rage into creative thinking and expression.
As John Lydon once said Mr. Spencer - anger is an energy!!!

I like reading what you write.it's real life thoughts.you are right if you say what bugs you then people trust for you to be honest with them,and we have no built up anger.
