Route 66
25 October, 2001
Author: Don Fraser
Now that most of it is gone
There is still some to carry on
If you want to see some highway tricks
Take a drive on old highway 66
You will get more than kicks
When you drive the highway of dreams
When you drive at night
Dodging all of the bright moonbeams
There is a song of yesteryear
That keeps repeating in your ear
Come with me you’ll have the time of your life
It will be so peaceful
There will be no more strife
It was built many years ago
But still
You can feel the glow
Of days gone by
Now people fly
Over what used to be
The highway that
Was built
For you and me.
