Occupational Hazards: 5 Poems
10 January, 2010
Author: Colin Stewart
The incontinent orchestra had too much cheer
and the conductor blamed it on the beer
so he fought the moment that we all fear
when nature calls and you must disappear!
---
They step on me with their dirty feet
so I resign myself by admitting defeat
and there's not much else you can do about that
when you've been reincarnated as a welcome mat!
---
This is one wild beast you cannot tame.
With his mouth open wide the tiger stakes his claim.
The ring master, you see, is as good as dead
as he enters the spotlight without his head!
---
All this downsizing took a gigantic toll
as Cupid was designated to a secondary roll
and with this recession he can no longer teach
that love is never really out of reach!
---
Oh my dear brother for what it's worth
we are the custodians of planet earth
but man fails to see it's a daily sin
when we judge each other by the color of our skin!
