The Cylinders Of Imagination: 5 Poems
12 January, 2010
Author: Colin Stewart
This journey keeps going down the track
and hapless man cannot look back
by hopelessly contributing to his slide
as a passenger on the devil's train ride!
---
He woke up one morning in a psychedelic daze
to experience what only his consciousness could raise
but Mozart was misunderstood and received no praise
for his musical prelude to Purple Haze!
---
It was transported through space in a jar.
The last precious little flower became a star
and as a cautionary tale they could trace
this once lovely reminder of the human race!
---
They stoop and grovel and try to please
but inside their hearts certain men freeze
and if you approach any women to get the job done
just get off your knees and stop begging my son!
---
Through the eyes of God and his camera lens
the composition of humanity is what He'll cleanse
in the Day of Judgment with that 'final snap'
and a directorial comment - "that's a wrap!"
