Stargazing
14 January, 2010
Author: Red Dragon (Bernz)
The chill of the cold January night breeze
Crawls on my shoulders like soft satin blanket
Gently touching seducing me into the unknown
It brushes my temples taking off
The mundane realities of life
I gazed up in the sky and noticed
There were no stars
They might be hiding behind the clouds
Taking their own time, oblivious too
Of the ritual task to shine
I closed my eyes and enjoyed the allure
Of this invisible seducer
In my mind I traveled:
It has been ages since
I took hold of time to partake
To relish the beauty of the night
From a distant I hear the Phantom
Echoing a sacred beauty, his ode to the night:
"Night time sharpens, heightens each sensation
Darkness stirs and wakes imagination
Silently the senses abandon their defenses....
Close your eyes and surrender to your darkest
dreams..."
And so I did...
But I did not surrender to any dark dream
Nor cast a prayer in solitude
I let my mind wander beyond
The clouds...beyond the stars
It took me sometime to think
Where the wings of my deep imagination
Would lead me....
It came where I least expected it
A playful cherub caught my senses
Is this the height of missive
Or the sad awakening
From the vast hollow that occupies my chest?
I dare not ask...my mind is as weary as my feet
There beyond the dark clouds
And above the stars
I saw the smile
A refreshing scene for this lowly man
A cherub smiling ...staring...that innocence
The face like Mona Lisa
That surpassed the allure of the unseen seducer
Higher in my thoughts I soared
I wish just for this moment that the cherub
Just for a minute moment, tickle me
Even just for a borrowed time, pamper me
That I may forget the song of tears
Cherub be my Angel of Music
