Late January
27 January, 2010
Author: Karla Bardanza
Warmth of earth embracing cloudless skies,
days of dreams transmuting souls in pearls,
shy trees inviting shadows and butterflies,
naïve boys intoxicated by sun-tanned girls.
Seeds of passion sowing whispers in the rain,
showers of kisses challenging the new moon,
harvest of desire oozing quietly can’t explain
why the flickering flames of lust start to bloom.
Crowded beaches, wild waves, savage sand,
coconut water, salty bodies ready to play
as my heart I try to heal and understand,
feeling my glorious holidays fading away.
