Misery: A Scene From A Bar
16 February, 2010
Author: Miztrebor
There is a man,
And his guitar,
Off in the corner
…weeping at his past loves.
A woman,
Red faced from the whiskey
Or the tears she has shed,
On a stool at the bar
…sipping at a glass full of air.
Another man,
Stumbling on his words and feet,
Near the pool table
…fails to get a girl.
Misery night at the bar,
(Shoot another shot
Drink another drink)
Misery is in the mood for company.
The bar lights up,
The drunk stops stumbling
…the guitar sings.
There is the guitar,
Sounding out sorrow,
Ringing out pain and truth,
Bringing them all together for a time.
Misery is in the mood for company,
But a bit of joy will prevail
Tonight at the bar.
