False Prophets
15 March, 2010
Author: Mark Spencer
A prophet speaks the truth alone,
His words can cut you to the bone.
The message he is asked to speak,
Can lead us to the place we seek.
But truth has paved a narrow road,
Upon which selfless seeds are sowed.
The sins of flesh are held at bay,
And human pride is washed away.
For only truth is welcome there,
While lies are destined for despair.
Deceit has paved a separate path,
A thoroughfare that leads to wrath.
And on this road, false prophets thrive,
For earthly gain, these tricksters strive.
Their pretty lies beguile the flock,
And candy coat the path they walk.
False prophets wear a grand facade,
And lift themselves on high, with God.
Their temples stand on mountain tops,
Blocking the light that feeds God's crops.
These self-proclaimed leaders of men
Absolve the flock of all its sin.
Though it's not something they can do,
They claim they'll build a better you.
And multitudes will swarm like flies,
Led blindly down a road of lies.
They'll worship God and mammon too,
They'll cling to treasures they pursue.
But if the end should chance to come,
When death has left the body numb,
They'll disappear like any lie,
A path to where illusions die.
For those who serve their earthly goals,
Have never let God touch their souls.
Yet they will say: "Look what I've done,
I've worshiped both You and your Son!"
But on the day the beast is slain,
He'll drag with him his earthly chain.
The souls of those who followed blind,
The beast will never leave behind.
This world belongs to Lucifer,
With it's gold frankincense and myrrh.
And those who covet what he owns,
Will share his fate like faithful drones.
False prophets of the world beware,
You know not of the cup you share.
The destiny awaiting you,
Comes to those God never knew.

Wess (24.144.48.71) -- Tuesday, March 23 2010, 03:50 am I see what Megan is referring to. These self-proclaimed leaders of men Absolve the flock of all its sin. Though it's not something they can do, They claim they'll build a better you. Joel Osteen wrote a book titled: Become a Better You: 7 Keys to Improving Your Life Every Day. his Lakewood Church is located in Compaq Center, a former sports arena in Houston, TX. Compaq Center, also known as The Summit, hosted the Houston Rockets from 1975 until 2003 when the Rockets moved into the larger Toyota Center. I share this information in order to clarify the facts. Compaq Center was never a football stadium, as Megan indicated. Other than that, I like the poem. |
