Mississippi River

Author: Elizabeth Squires
Mississippi River I love you
You're the sweetest girl a boy ever knew
I can't wait to be back in your arms
And feel the wonder of your charms
I'm catching a greyhound at eight tonight
I want to see your beauty at first light
I'm thinking about you all the time
I want to see your flowing flowered line
No longer can I be far from you
You're the only girl for this boy so true
Mississippi River I'm in no doubt
You're the girl I can't do without
Mississippi River I love you
And this boy can't be far from you
Mississippi River I love you
The sweetest girl a boy ever knew
